Dear Digg,

I would like to see you extend the ’shouts’ setting. Right now, when you go to the settings tab of your profile. . .all you can do is restrict shouts you receive to your friends, anyone, or no one.

Give me a new feature that lets me allow ‘comment shouts’ only.

Though, I see a lot of Diggers paste the URL of the story they want you to digg in the comment(instead of sharing the story). So if ‘comments shouts’ are the only thing that is allowed. . .block all URLs too.

I can see this being abused still. . .maybe by removing the http or the WWW. I think if someone goes to that extent to abuse the shout system. . .then I’ll just ignore them and be done with it.

I dunno. . .but there has to be a way to have a ’shout system’ and actually use it to be social. . .not to spam their Digg Submissions.
