Hey Shogan,

Glad your enjoying the content.

I used to be like that with linux(back in the redhat days). Thankfully with Ubuntu things were great.

I have to say you'll need a 2nd computer, so you can look up errors in google when the linux box breaks. It's always a driver thing. . .but normally there is a fairly easy fix. As long as you can follow step by step instructions you're set.

Hey Four20.

Like your site and the general tone. I've tried Linux twice now and just can't get there. Always problems with drivers of one thing or another. Got tired of having to ask everytime I wanted to do something. The people who love it seem to be way into it but for me it was a task.

I do some writing for PC Pitstop and we have a Linux forum there and also some articles on some of the same interests you have. Laptops, Vista, XP, not much writing on Linux but the forum is good help.

I'm a big XP fan.

Anyway I've put your site in my favorites and will continue to check.

Thanks

I agree David. . .I think that if maybe it had some 'auto configuration' feature when something breaks(hardware) or it doesn't boot anymore.

I dunno. It's easy to research the answer to 95% of the issues Linux has. . .but why put yourself through that much work.

I've had the exact same problem before. Linux is a great OS, but I think it's really better suited as a "fun" OS, playing with settings and using the shell, rather than being a practical one.
