I imagine this is available to everyone now. . .even though they’re keeping the ‘BETA’ icon there. Which if you think about it is probably a great idea. They have always said it’s only a small percentage that visits and actually participates in the upcoming section. Maybe with this red image there it can attract some attention.
I also noticed the moved the ‘Popular/Upcoming’ tabs from the right side, and put it on the left side. With the left side of a website generally being more looked at, I think this will do a good job at bringing new visitors to the upcoming section. Maybe it’s just me since I only had 2 stories hit the front page in June, but I’ve already seen more activity(diggs and comments) around my submissions.
The last feature that they added to try to share stories was the Shout system. Personally, I think that failed miserably. . .but I know plenty of diggers that still use it today. I use the shout system to thank anyone who adds me as a friend. . .that’s it.
I have yet to fully go through and fully test the recommendations that Digg is sending me. . .but they seem to be doing something. Not only have my submissions been more active today. . .but I have also been gaining a lot of friends. Like I said I send a shout to anyone that adds me. . .and it’s been hard to keep up today.
Good job Digg staff. . .this looks to be another great addition to the site.

So this is my blog. This will be the place I go to write up random thoughts about random things. Most of it will deal with the internet or technology. . .since I am a geek. Just don't expect anything too exciting. . .
