So I’ve had 2 days with the NXE and I must say that I do like the new UI. It’s confusing at first but you get used to it after about 10-15 minutes.

The Xbox 360 is a great gaming machine. . .and this says a lot coming from a PlayStation fanboy. I mean in the end as long as the performance is the same(or close), it’s all about the games library. I have to admit Microsoft has been very aggressive getting games this generation.

My favorite feature is the ability to install games onto the HDD. My only gripe about the console was about how loud it got. This was really only a factor when the drive was spinning, but when it happened it was very noticeable. Thankfully with this new feature we can now install games to the HDD and not only make it quieter. . .but also load faster.

Not only can I keep the volume on my TV at a reasonable level when I play a game, but it also makes the Xbox slightly cooler during gameplay. Heat isn’t the biggest issue right now(since it’s Winter), but living in Georgia(with the humidity) in a small room with an HDTV has made me very cautious of what electronics I keep on(because of the heat). Recently I condensed 4 external drives into 1 enclosure(with a Drobo) which has helped tremendously. This with the new XBE should help out a lot during the Summer.
